If you start sprouting colonies up you'll start making that cash. Hopefully no colonies want independence from you down the road though. Very Happy

So I posted my nation but it's definately not done for approval yet. Have yet to choose my spot, write a history, describe the cities, or even talk of prominent people within the Republic of Ever-Winter. Took me so long for just that cuz my comp is acting up. It only lets me copy like 10 words so all that stuff you see copied from the site intead of taking a short time too me actually a good amount of time for some reason.

Hopefully Dwarves keep that underground ability though then I can choose to either start off with Talis and END HIM, or I can start off with the Elves and Avians and team up with one of them, or just go off by my lonesome like those Drow Smile LOL

If you start off under my kingdom we're going to need to figure out how in the world the two have existed without meeting each other for so long. I doubt the dwarves would have just sat there and ate popcorn while there was a massive, bloody war going on over their heads. Not to mention trying to tunnel in frozen bedrock.

You can definitely be underground. As to where though, I don't care, just don't be by yourself. Makes negotiations harder. I vote under Ezria and Mabiya myself.

Very solitary people whom had no need to venture out of their underground city until they planed to look for more mountains and low and behold they find little people who annoy them to no end. Wham bam easy explination Smile Lol jk Talis that'd be an terrible thing for me to do plus I'd be secluded from everyone, well besides you that is. So thinking of that main island with Elves and Avians but don't really wanna leave the Drow all by their lonesome but tired so night ya'll.

I'll likely be visiting the drow soon to see if they have anything to trade. Maybe there will even be some resources nearby and I can set up a colony.

Yo did you check out the suggestions The Kingdom of Ezria and I posted?

Also my application is done The World (Theo) and ready for approval unless I screwed something up. Let me know if I did though and I'll fix it or add something to it. Think I got what I wanted down. Might add more to history because I wanted to include the setting up of boarders ceremony for them about like going out and setting a metal stake in the ground sorta deal 'claiming' their territory and maybe something with the Avians and Dwarves if Ezria approves of it. Gonna send him a PM about it to get a yay or nay though first naturally yea know.

Probably will but tired and can't copy and paste so had to hit the send button so I can exit out otherwise everything I did tonight would have been lost.

EDIT: Ah you're right. My mistake on Honorable part and that's what I thought about the economy one so didn't add it in but put it in () below as a question. Thank you for clearifying.

EDIT 2: Oh and D2D post will be later on very tired and sisters coming in tomorrow, or today actually so good night and see you all tomorrow. Talis and The World your input on my history and cities and people would be appreciated via PM or public. Same with you Elves and Avians. Input will only make it better hopefully yes?

EDIT: War seems inevitable already. This is sweet.

Keep them coming. You're activity is giving you an advantage as your kingdom develops and good things will happen ; finding resources, developments in the kingdom, et cetera.

Finished my second D2D.

This is why I really have Shidrus. Very few factions have as much detail and consistency as it can put together. Subtle things like how parents indulge (or don't indulge) their children, what kind of clothing or behavior marks people as wealthy, and what traits are idealized as heroic are all things that make for excellent RPing.

Talis, you and AspenIvan are the some of the best RP'ers I've ever run into. I'll do a ModMark before I get back to studying for this exam.

I'll have Ezria's up Thursday or Friday.

Wish everybody was active as you two. Bahaha.

Yes but we're not all on vacation nor have such good writing skills so we all can't be active like that, at least not till the weekend and then for me not then cuz I turn 21 Smile

EDIT: Do I PM you about the forces sent to each entrence or post it like Mr. Avian of Kingdom of Ezria.

PS: I EDITED AGAIN: The World I got my second D2D up yay me! And I'm looking forward to the battle mod mark.

PS third edit I think: So this is General Discussion but I dislike posting after myself and prefer to edit if I can. That's just me I don't like a large post count gained by double or triple posting Smile but I'm rambling I hope that in the morning when I wake up and log in the afternoon after I'm done with random RL stuff that I see the wonderfull yellowish color indicating a new post in this topic along with the battle and D2D areas just so I get something to read from other realms or from THE WORLD dun dun dun. LOL think it was funnier in my head more then anything else. So good night see you not in the morning but afternoon ish Smile

I'm basically done with my nation, I just need to wait for the School of Demonology, get the map done and finish up the history. Will probably get that done by tomorrow night (if you add the School of Demonology by then).

Speaking of stuff being finished, hey, grall (your still grall btw) did you think about the galleon unit yet, I need a flagship or something along those lines. Either that or a galleyess (really big galley). A galley just will not fit the bill.

It's Graal, not grall.

There is no need for a titan-sized unit in Warring Fronts.

Fine graal, I guess i'll make do without it. The purpose of the galleon was for flexibility, also I suck at RPing oar powered ship warfare, don't ask me why I just suck. Besides, it would lend advantages to navies that use them. Like the obvious fear factor and having the enemy face something that they are not used to. Besides, realistically a galley could never venture across any meaning full streach of salt water.

I'd actually suggest a ship system based on function rather than size and firepower. Something like this:

Galley (Trireme) - A swift, oared vessel armed with a metal battering ram and many marines. Their many oars give them excellent maneuverability, and their rams are powerful weapons in battle. However, galleys have little cargo room, and risk tipping over in deep water. They excel in shallow waters or short battles.
- Can land anywhere
- Extremely fast and maneuverable due to rowers
- vulnerable in high seas
- Carries battering ram and boarders

Longboat - A specialized warship with a flat bottom and no deck. Longships can use a sail on the high seas, or oars for swift maneuvering. Their shallow bottoms allow them to land anywhere, but is also sturdy enough to handle deep waters. Because of their design longboats carry little weaponry, but many soldiers for boarding or raiding.
- Can land anywhere
- Carries boarders for combat
- can handle long voyages

Galleon - A large, deep-keeled vessel with multiple decks and much storage. Galleons are very sturdy and stable even in rough weather. Their size makes rowing them impractical and forces sailors to rely upon the wind for power while also running the risk of running aground in shallow water. Galleons are sturdy enough to use siege weapons in combat, but tend to fare badly in close combat.
- May run aground in shallow waters
- Carries siege weapons for combat
- Relies on wind for propulsion
- Rarely sinks in open seas

With this ship setup, it's more a tradeoff of benefits than a choice of the biggest ship. The Longboat is a hybrid that's good for most things but excels at nothing, the trireme is highly maneuverable, but has limited use in long campaigns, and the galleon is powerful but also ponderous and difficult to handle.

I like that idea, it gives room for variations and I can finally have my flagship. I also like galleon idea although you could try adding caravels

Caravels
The backbone of a kingdoms merchant marine, they carry lots of cargo and are small enough to allow for effective oar power although sails can be used in case they fall short of hands.
- can land anywhere
- carries lots of cargo
- only ten marines
- can be put under civilian use (generates 1 ep when civilians are using it but takes 1-2 modmarks to recall to military service)

That way it isn't just sitting at drydock waiting for a invasion. and on the spur of the moment

Frigate
a deep keeled craft intended to support galleons across the ocean. they still rely on sail power but the smaller size lets it move faster. although it is an effective unit when used properly, its main reason for existing is as an escort to defend the Caravels on a long voyage through dangerous waters or the flanks of the galleon fleet.
- still runs the risk of running aground but able to get close enough to launch boats
- more sails and less hull let it move faster than galleons and keep up with longboats
- less siege weapons than the galleon but still a lot for its size
- able to transport a regiment of infantry
- relies on external means of supply because of the severe lack of cargo space
- can be put under civilian use (generates 1 ep when civilians are using it but takes 1-2 modmarks to recall to military service)

So I wonder how the battle will turn out. Snow is a problem naturally. I wonder if I can get fride of Kulush's men and consolidate that area before reinforcements from the city arrive. LI will be there really fast but those other units might not be as fast depending the distance from the city to where the battle is. Fun Fun Fun Smile

There is no flanking by the way Jaymes.

Entire formations of Dwarves clambering the rock mountains is possible, but they would arrive so straggled that they would just be getting picked off left and right. This is a straight up battle, one of the pros/cons of Mountain Terrain.

Everybody check out Theo's Blog & Updates for my ideas on a new trait system.

Oh darn well gonna be awesome to see the mod mark and how the straight up battle turns out. Kulush doesn't have a whole lot of forces...if I can get a foot hold real fast before city reinforcements come in then that'd be wonderfull Smile

Sounds interesting but idunno I mean won't that make long standing nations really powerfull and begining nations relitively weak in comparison?
