I typed up a history in the edit window for my nation, but I moved my computer and it disappeared. Evil or Very Mad I'll post a history soon, but that my work just got deleted made me very angry.

Haha. It's all good.

I've got four or five pending to join right now from the old Warring Fronts so we should get the ball rolling. If you know of anybody that might be interested besides Warping Empires, let them know!

Was the old one the one on Fictionpress? That one died out shortly after I joined it.

No it was on proboards. We had about 15 members but I shut it down due to personal problems.

I'm interested on how Mabiyan culture is going to be. This isn't going to be like Warping Empires where problems are few and far in between. I already have big plans for Mabiya that you'll have to deal with, hahaha!

Well, I'll try my best!

As for culture, I think they'll be friendly/peaceful/ ect., but not to the extent of the Averi.

Hahahaha. Ionno! At least you'll have interaction early. Until either of you guys send out scouts or groups to explore you won't know you're there so you have time.

All races speak English. Avians and Lizardmen speak less than perfect English because of their unique vocal cords.

Some people have that kind of luck. I remember back on the New Sovereignty RP, we had one player join with this peaceful tribe of anthropomorphic cat-people... The next person to join had an army of shapeshifting demons attack the village, then immediately after that had been dealt with they got into a quarrel with the local version of Survaek; I won't go on to describe the forum-wide plague that followed. I really pitied that player.

I took the New Sovereign RP. Not enough rules, too crazy!

It had some good points. I still like the fact that it had static resources that weren't actually in your empire. It was a good way to force conflict; no one could sit inside their own borders and prosper.

And I'll be submitting an application. I tried to resist, but it was just too tempting. Beware the imperialistic halfling confederacy!

True. The "locales" idea was really good but I didn't want to steal it from you!

I'm glad you're joining now! hahaha!

Locales work better in a smaller scale setting. Here they would just complicate things.

I'm having a hard time with the economic traits. Most of them either don't fit, or focus on internal advantage. Where are the economic traits that provide advantages in foreign trading?

You're right! We don't. I can understand the need for one, I just need a name an a fluff description and I can write up the effects. Sound good?

hrm, here's a couple possibilities:

Colonialism - Kingdoms that practice Colonialism believe in seeking out and finding trade and resources rather than waiting for them. They will explore new lands, establishing outposts and trade routes as they go, which will bring new wealth and resources from distant lands.

. . . I really want to call this next one mercantilism, since that's the accurate definition (what you're using would more accurately be called protectionism), but failing that:

Trade Society - The Kingdom believes that aggressive trade is the best means to prosperity. Even if resources don't stop at the trader's door, they always gain a portion of the wealth. Trade societies look to trade with as many different kingdoms and with as many different resources as possible in order to maximize their leverage.

I'm going to make Colonialism a National Trait and Trade Society an Economic Trait.

Look at that a Halfling nation already born. Lol, can't wait to see Talis'. Working on mine. Slow process because I'm becoming increasingly distracted lol but mine will be a different race then Halflings, Elves, or Avians so new races will continue to appear! YAY

I'm debating on weather I should get Honorable or the Haggling & Trading Social trait. I mean Honorable fits my nation but so does Haggling and trading I just don't know about the whole cost 3 per 10K bit for war...means I'd have to close da gates and remain secluded for a long time before I do anything otherwise a war would bankrupt me from the get go lol. Don't know what to do you have a suggestion for me Mr. World?

Haggling & Trading is a like a mercantile society ; kind of like feudalistic europe on the societal level. When times were good, times were good ; but for example .. during the Crusades, the kingdoms continued to do good but the people suffered.
