I'd vote for Talis or Zufor. Talis cuz he's run a few of his own or Zufor because he had that nice little thing to get new players over. Copied and sent that to a couple of my friends from another game. Don't see 'em on yet though so maybe they didn't join or haven't checked yet.

I know Colonialism is a trait for people who want to quickly expand their empires, but what do you guys think of the idea of ANYONE being able to put up colonies but Colonialism allows for much lower requirements to establish the colonies?

Thoughts.

Other nations can expand, but I haven't documented the system yet, but for colonies yes everybody would be allowed to establish colonies, but Colonialism would make establishing and maintaining colonies MUCH cheaper!

So am I to assume that Ezria absorbs Mabiya after it collapses?

Yes, but I'm contemplating on whether not to give you tangible benefits. Neutral

You'd need a Day to Day about sending in some troops to maintain order and civility and establish a puppet governor in Shurmanda, and I'll do you up. :]

Well the thinking is that the bulk of the mabiyan army would be absorbed into the Ezrian military, and what was left over would be disbanded.

But they wouldn't go easily I mean elves don't take change too well that's why it's suppose to take 'em forever. Be interesting to see how it plays, might increase you rebels and outlaws big time. But getting my post ready so be prepared lol jk

I think more elves would embrace order over civil war and chaos to be honest. But it should be interesting, your right. I've already got my post written for the battle thread, i'll prolly have to make minor adjustments BUT BRING IT.

Now that other people are founding colonies I have to ask: What exactly is the advantage of the colonialism trait? How does it provide an advantage over other powers when colonizing new lands?

1. With the Colonialism Trait, you can establish Trade Agreements between Colonies and the Homeland.

2. With the Colonialism Trait, all Colonies except LARGE and MASSIVE are free to settle.

3. With the Colonialism Trait, per 1,000 citizens it's only 1 Economic Point per week. Without it, it's 2.

4. With the Colonialism Trait you have a much larger chance of finding new resource nodes.

Oh nice, so I can spam small colonies, that's what I wanted to do anyway. I'd rather have small, strategically placed colonies than big piles of land anyway.

Yes sir. I wanted to give everybody the ability to make colonies, but if you're a Colonial power it's substantially easier.

Let me warn you Talis, spamming colonies is going to end with a Bunker Hill, I swear to you!

oh please. For one, the British won that battle, and colonies don't rebel for at least a hundred years after their founding. Just think about the government structure of the Union; it's entirely pervasive and compartmentalized anyway, so there's no point in rebelling. I'm more worried about being stretched too thin and losing colonies to competitors.

Like the Dwarves taking over with their powerfull rowboats!

But serious question. If a Dwarve starts a colony above ground because ones above and ones below their empires boarders don't tecnically touch unless the Colony's boarders reached the other entrance? And should a colony's boarders ever reach the start off nations boarders then does it cease to be a colony but just another part of the realm?

Example: The World's Nations next Colony is north north east of Kingdom of Ezria/Republic of Ever-Winter. Say he conquests all the way through the Holds of Karag Mor, Republic of Ever-Winter and Ezria or diplomaticly takes over peacefully the above grounds of the dwarves and conquers the Kingdom of Ezria and reaches his colony does it cease to be a colony and just another portion of his Empire though with a specific settlement, possible resource node/nodes, and a specific number of citizens whom were the used to be settlers of the colony?
