The Ambassador looked on the city with a mixture of loathing and contempt, it was nothing compared to Coronne. It might have been an ant hill. The guardsman familiar words crashed against his ears, demanding to know his intentions. He was silent for a moment, a flicker of doubt clouding his mind as he dwelled on the situation in front of him. The 'elves' looked eerily similar to the humans that the Ezrian's fought for centuries. But their were differences, most notably the ears, the slender frames. Human 'landwalkers' were squat, muscled, brutes. Perhaps they were related somehow? He honestly had not expected the man things to have such mastery of architecture. While the city was a backwater compared to his blessed Coronne, he had been expecting huts made of mud and feces not actual structures..and large one's at that. What he had found instead was startling.

He decided that it was best to treat the situation with a degree of caution. He did not know these people, and yes while they were obviously inferior to Ezria..they were not what he had expected to find. More information would be required before he passed judgement. The Ambassador kicked his mount forward towards the walls, accompanied by his standard bearer who bore the Double headed eagle of the Kingdom.

'' I come bearing words of import from the Great King of Ezria Casimir. I humbly request an audience with your ruler. '' He said choking back the contempt he felt, it was all he could do to keep his words civil.

Many of the townspeople gawked at the strange newcomers, mostly at their odd forms. Small children huddled to their mothers in fear; these men looked like some sort of monsters!

One of the guards that had been patrolling the area walked up to the ambassidor.

"And who might 'ou be?" he asked, studying the creature's structure with both curiosity and caution. A group of guards had formed in case anything were to happen.

'' Ambassador Batyn Anda.. I speak for His Majesty. '' The disrespectful tone of the churl beneath him would have been enough to warrant an execution in Ezria. Anda's talons flexed menacingly, ready to tear open the guards jugular. Anda's escort had begun to edge forward as well, the heavy cavalry ready to pounce and crush the guardsman.. '' And that is all you need to know. Will you convey me to your Master now? '' The ambassador's tone was one whom was not to be trifled with. Neither were his bodyguards, each whom had their hands steadily resting on the hilts of their blades.

(Pompous things, aren't they? Neutral )

"Uh, o' course. 'Ollow me, please."

The guard turned to one of the others around him.

"Tell the governor that he has guests approaching. From... an outside country."

She nodded, then sprinted towards the castle. The original guard began walking towards the caslte, as well.

[ They consider everyone not Avian as inferior. Soo I play them as pretty arrogant ]

The Ambassador was quicky finding any modicum of respect that he held upon seeing their city dissapear. This was how they treated a foreign envoy representing the mightiest Kingdom on the continent? Perhaps Hulagu was right..it was something to report back nonetheless. '' Gratitude...'' He said dryly, before the 'monsters' began their procession into the city and towards the castle where he assumed they would meet this 'governor'. It was not the same as a King or Queen. He slowly bit down a slew of profanities, he did not ask to see some low ranking henchman! He wanted to see the leader! His fellow Ezrian's could sense the ambassador's anger and anxiety by that body language, which looked like nothing to an outsider..but to an Avian one could tell that he was close to the breaking point. Perhaps this Governor would be more civil...and would bow down to his demands. They would arrive at the castle, the ambassador dismounting along with a handful of his guardsmen before they were conveyed inside. The Avian had difficulty fitting through the cramped corridors with his massive wingspan, but he managed..now where was their leader?

When they arrived, they were led to a large hall with a long table. A man in a white cloak that had a violet fastener at the neck and chainmail underneath sat at the head of the table. Upon seeing the Avians, he got up and bowed.

"You must be the ambassidor! How pleseant to make you aqcuantince!"

He beamed.

"Please, please, sit!"

The man motioned towards the many armrestless chairs along the table.

"I am Masivint, Governor of Shurmanda, appointed by King Kalinor. What am I to do for you today, Ambassidor?"

'' I trust then you can speak for your King then.. '' Anda said, bowing in return. At least somewhat of a custom that he was familiar with..the ambassador eased himself into the chair. It was awkward to say the least, he was forced to lean forward on the edge. '' My King's demands are simple. He seeks a trade agreement and access to your nations ports. '' Anda was tempted to add that the Governor had best accept the mutually beneficial terms or General Hulagu would sack and burn this place to the ground.

Straight to the point, I see, the Governor thought.

"I see. What would your nation have to offer?" he asked.

'' Ezria has vast quarries of stone. My King is willing to trade a moderate amount in exchange for coin. '' He replied. The Ambassador was never one to dance about with pleasentries, even amongst his own people. He was always blunt.

Masivint furrowed his brow.

"Well, I believe that we could accept your offer... do you have any groups that would hinder trade?"

Something akin to laughter croaked from the avian across the table as he stared at the Governor. Talons interlocking together as he mulled a response. '' No group exists or would dare interfere with trade. My King is highly respected amongst our people. '' He neglected to mention that the King was also worshipped as a Divinity.

'' Our trade routes are very well protected by the Royal Army. '' The confined mountain pathways made it difficult to prey on caravans as it could be easy monitored by Royal troops, thanks to the Avians ability of flights. '' You won't have a problem with supply as long as you have the coin to buy. '' The Ambassador murmered.

"Right, right..."

The Elf closed his eyes in deep thought.

The Ambassador waited for the Elf's response or lack thereof, talons grinding in the arms of the elvish chair. '' I imagine you will need time to talk this to your King. But I would urge you to make your choice quickly. My master is impatient to ensure that this trade deal commences immediately. '' He didn't mention that a small army was behind him prepared to raid and pillage the border until the Elves gave in if they said no.

'' Less than half a day's ride. We will give your merchants access to the city of Agrina.. However, the cities of Coronne and Matrija are not open to foreigners. '' Agrina was the financial and primary trade hub of the Kingdom while Coronne and Matrija were both considered sacred and the lowly flatlands folk not worthy to set foot within them.

"Alright," the Governor said. "I must consult the king before a proper desicion is made... however, as Governor of Shurmanda, I can agree to proposal in the name of said city."

'' Excellent. Our borders will be opened to your merchants and welcome to the city of Agrina. I hope that our merchants will have similar privileges. '' He said standing.. '' I trust you will convey my words to your King. I hope this will lead to a long and profitable relatinoship between both of our nations. This is our official treaty..'' He said motioning with his talons, a member of the diplomats entourage handing him several scrolls of parchment. '' They lay out the terms that I have already described. As the King's representative, can you sign? That will allow our merchants access to this city while your King deliberates opening up the rest of his markets to our merchans. ''

He read over the terms carefully, then, satisfied, signed.

"I will send a message to you at once regarding the King's desicion, good Ambassidor of Ezria."

'' Excellent. '' The Ezrian replied, glad that his business was over. '' Good day to you. When your King has made a decision, dispatch an emissary to our border to discuss further terms. It has been a pleasure, Governor. '' He said with a bow of his head before turning on his heel and stalking out of the cramped room towards his waiting entourage. Soon he'd be back home.
